La mujer fantástica di Carmen de Burgos: moda, arte e universo femminile tra avanguardie e letteratura di consumo

The article focuses on the study of La mujer fantástica, a novel by Carmen de Burgos that first appeared as a novela corta in 1923 and was expanded for the Sempere publishing house in 1924. It highlights the general characteristics of Colombine's narrative style and sheds light on the connections and differences with the artistic currents of the new century. What emerges is the reworking of a number of stylistic techniques favoured by avant-garde movements and the intertextual relationships of the work with other writings by Burgos, particularly regarding the themes of women's fashion and art. The article underscores the elements that pose greater challenges to the contemporary interpretation and translation of the text, emphasizing the importance of completing the critical study of the entirety of Colombine's entire corpus.

Per una lettura eco-gotica di A Sicilian Romance e The Italian di Ann Radcliffe

This article is based on an excerpt from my dissertation titled South-Italian Englishness: caratterizzazioni inattese in “A Sicilian Romance” e “The Italian” di Ann Radcliffe (MA Course in Euroamerican Languages, Literatures and Philologies, University of Pisa, 2024). It deals with the symbolic interplay involving external geographies and the protagonists’ worldview in Ann Radcliffe’s A Sicilian Romance (1790) and The Italian (1797) and also refers to the philosophical and literary influences lying underneath the surface of her chimerical “South”. Radcliffe’s physical landscape, often in tune with the suppressed voices of female characters, is here reconsidered through an eco-gothic lens that emphasises the protagonists’ intimate relationship with nature.

Die Bedeutung des hebräischen Urtextes für Luthers Genesis-Übersetzung: Eine Analyse des semantischen Felds der Schöpfung

The aim of this article is to examine the extent to which the use of Biblical Hebrew influenced Martin Luther's translation of the Bible. It focuses on the importance of the original Hebrew Bible text for the translation of the Book of Genesis, and it also analyzes how Luther found a balanced compromise between the sacred and the everyday language that could be understood by all social classes of that time. We will study some keywords of the semantic field of creation from the first two chapters of Genesis and their translation into German by Luther. This theme has been selected because it concerns the acts of naming the first human beings as well as their relationship with God and the primordial phenomena.

Specifically, it provides an analysis and translation of the short story O menino de água as an exemplification of the author's recurring themes and contemporary tendencies of the short narrative form.

Paralleli isidoriani nell’Ars Bernensis. Un’ipotesi sulle Etymologiae a Bobbio nella seconda metà dell’VIII secolo

Through the analysis of four of the fourteen Isidorian citations from the Etymologiae found in the Ars Bernensis, this paper aims to define to which of the three families of the encyclopaedia the model used by the compiler of the Ars belongs. Accepting Holtz’s hypothesis that locates the origin of the Ars in Bobbio, we will try to shed light on the presence of the Etymologiae in that milieu at the end of the eighth century.

Racconto dei miracoli dell’icona della Madre di Dio di Vladimir

This work is a translation, from Church Slavonic into Italian, of a text dating back to the fifteenth/seventeenth centuries. This text is about the miracles performed by the Vladimir Mother of God, an icon which is known for its healing and saving powers. The icon is said to help people in case of disease, death, war, and other catastrophic events. The translation is followed by a comment which aims at explaining some of our linguistic choices, concerning in particular Church Sla-vonic vocabulary.

Big Hero 6: tra parcellizzazione prometeica e narratologia applicata

The purpose of this article is to establish a dialogue between the movie Big Hero 6 and the Promethean mythologem to demonstrate how, in both cases, the Promethean elements do not focus on a central character but are fragmented into and disseminated among several actants. This investigation will also be accompanied by a psychodynamic analysis of the protagonists and a teleological-axiological interpretation of their actions.

Promethean Perspectives in Cinema: A Comparative Analysis

This paper aims to conduct a comparative and contrastive analysis of three movies and examine their relationship with the Promethean mythologem. Additionally, I will investigate the interesting aspects emerging when the main characters of the films are analyzed and compared to the figure of Prometheus as envisaged, in particular, in Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The movies chosen for this analysis are Oppenheimer (2023), The Current War (2017), and A.I. – Artificial Intelligence (2001). All three films possess a strong Promethean charge, each combining different aspects of the mythologem and offering an additional Promethean perspective to the syntax of cinema.

Il prometeico nel fantasy contemporaneo: il caso di Throne of Glass

This article aims to demonstrate the presence of the Promethean mythologem and psychologem in the fantasy saga Throne of Glass, by contemporary author Sarah J. Maas. After a brief introduction to the fantasy genre and an overview of the saga, the study focuses on the character of Aelin Galathynius, examining her psychological traits and drawing parallels with the Promethean archetype. Through a comparative analysis of mythological and literary frameworks, the article highlights how these classical themes are transposed into a modern fantasy context. This analysis sheds light on the intersection of myth and character development, contributing to the broader discussion of mythological archetypes in contemporary fantasy literature.

Prometheus, alla ricerca delle origini dell’uomo

The following article analyzes Ridley Scott's 2012 film Prometheus and explores aspects of the classical Promethean figure. Elements such as the plot, the background, and the characters themselves will be taken into consideration. The aim is to try to understand where the Promethean element precisely resides in this film, and how much it actually affected its production. A selection of scenes (those in which the Promethean archetype is most prominent) will be analyzed in chronological order, so as to give a sense of continuity to the commentary.
